There are probably many questions in your mind as you prepare to move into a senior living facility, or to help a loved one make the transition to senior living. We at Summit Place field many of these questions, and have answered some of them in our Frequently Asked Questions.

If you don't find answers in our FAQ's, you may find what you need at one of the websites we have listed below. These websites are not affiliated with Summit Place in any way, but may have information to help you make these life altering decisions.

  • The Alzheimer's Association, South Carolina Chapter - The Alzheimer's Association is the leading, global voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care and support, and the largest private, nonprofit funder of Alzheimer research.
  • Lt. Governor's Office on Aging - The Lieutenant Governor's Office on Aging works with a network of regional and local organizations to develop and manage programs and services to improve the quality of life of South Carolina's older citizens, and to help them remain independent in their homes and communities.
  • AARP - American Association of Retired Persons is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization that helps people 50 and over improve the quality of their lives.
  • ElderLife Financial Services - ElderLife Financial Services offers qualified prospective and current residents and their families a loan to bridge the gap in funding short-term and long-term senior living costs. People waiting for the sale of a home or for veterans' benefits to start among others may benefit from an ElderLife loan.
  • Veterans Benefits - Veterans who served during wartime and their spouses may be eligible to receive nearly $2,000 per month to help defray the cost of assisted living, in-home health care or other non-reimbursed medical care through the "Aid and Attendance" Program.   • South Carolina Upstate Aging & Disability Resource Center - ADRC is a collaborative pilot project designed to improve awareness of and access to long-term supports for seniors, adults with disabilities and caregivers.
